Honeycommb Product Update: August 2020

In August, we had a big focus on improving our web experience. This included mobile web to mirror closer to the full mobile app experience and also some big updates on web directly. We’ve also laid the groundwork for translations that will offer the ability for our entire product across the apps and web to be translated into a user’s preferred language. And, to end our update for August, we share what some other features and upgrades you have coming your way.

New & Improved:
Web App Improvements

We’ve updated the performance of the web app and mobile browser experience. This update improves usability and ties the experience closer to the native mobile user interface for more consistency and better usage. 

New Feature:

RSS Feed Post Creation 

Admins of communities can easily set up RSS feeds to post directly to user profiles. This supports in content creation and helps automate tasks for administrators to make management and improve “stickiness” of your community.

You can set up your RSS feed right from your Control center. Need any help setting your RSS feeds? Reach out to your Success Manager! 

Leveraging Custom Fields:

Community Apply

Are you using Onboarding Cards for your community? If not, our team is happy to apply our template and support you by creating a series of onboarding cards for new members to swipe through prior to their registration.

Translation Support

We support communities all over the world. In an effort to improve the experience of those users, we’re adding tools for community administrators to set up default languages and user controls over language to display app functions in native text. Be on the look out for the announcement later this quarter!  

More Product Updates:

• Custom Verbiage
Using your control center, update words like MEMBERS and GROUPS to fit your unique approach and positioning. 

• Improvements For Blocking
Now, when you block a user, you won’t see their content AND they won’t see yours. View your blocked users in your app settings. 

• New Webhooks 
Webhooks for Group Joins, Membership Subscription Changes, Featured Posts and others are now available in your network! 

• Custom Fields Preview
Community admins can preview their custom field before submitting it to the LIVE environment, just to make sure everything looks perfect 😄
